How MBD Search Engine works

Part 1

MBD Search Engine working process can be divided into two parts: database creation and searching.

During database creation all documents and pictures of supported formats are collected from the specified folders, archives and local network paths. MBD Search Engine processes documents, extracts pure text and pictures and creates MBD SE database consisting of several storages. First of all - index, that has size of about 40% of pure text size. Index keeps all words positions in the database. Second - encoded text storage, containing pure text with links to the extracted pictures. The size of the text storage is about 60% of the pure text size. Optionally pictures storage and source documents storage are also present (if corresponding options are selected). Pictures storage contains all extracted pictures, source documents storage contains copies of source documents in order to distribute database or to protect information. Creation process is shown schematically on the Fig. 1.
